Submission of Articles - Conditions

Publication Policy

Editorial Board: consists of NZ practitioners and academics.

Criteria for publication:

  • NZ relevance to understanding of HR

  • Other criteria as listed above

  • Compliance with criteria of excellence in the genre in which you are writing

Style Guide for Authors:

  • Contributions should be in 'Word' electronic format and sent by e-mail to researcher@hrinz.org.nz. Pages should be numbered consecutively

  • Title, name of author(s), and address for correspondence should appear on a separate page, together with a note of the total number of words. An abstract of up to 200 words is helpful

  • Up to three weights of sub-headings may be used

  • Tables and figures should be precise and bold to permit reproduction. Shading densities should be between 20% and 70%

  • Contributors are requested to use footnotes that make cross-references within the text as sparingly as possible

  • The optimum length of for articles is about 10,000 words (excluding footnotes), but longer articles can exceptionally be considered

Peer review: your submission will be forwarded to members of the editorial board for prompt response. Section Editors will be happy to discuss drafts and proposed contributions with contributors.

Publication: will be immediately on receipt of amended copy (if required) and to the satisfaction of reviewers. We have no publication deadlines, hosting papers on the site as they become available.

Post-publication reviews and commentaries: readers are encouraged to submit comments and reviews of papers on our site. Authors have first right of reply to reader comments and reviews.
